lesson 33

In this lesson, pupils can compare different machining materials on the basis of their basic properties: chemical stability at high temperatures, flexural strength and hardness.

It describes the struggle of former apprentices who, until then, had learnt everything by heart or memorised technical things in repetitive manual vocational work in practical classes. When it comes to their final exams, they have to add theoretical analysis to their previous knowledge. They are not usually able to make connections between pieces of knowledge and derive solutions from information given or found. This lesson gives tips on how to help them overcome this problem using online tools.
